On Christmas Eve night, we and our guests...

...gather in the Great Hall... ...for a night of well-mannered frivolity.

This year, there's the issue of the girls... ...the dancing. and the Yule Ball.
I år er der alt det med pigerne, dansen og juleballet.
Everyone was dressed up
Alle var i fint tøj.
None of us had a clue what we were doing

| knew | was gonna have to dance in front of everyone else

The whole run-up to the Yule Ball.. ...is fraught. for the actors, with those emotions...

What | like about Harry is, he's pathetic at the whole romance thing. He's rubbish. There's a good scene with Harry and Cho, where he asks her to the ball.

He does it incredibly without any kind of tact. He kind of shouts at her.

...and they'd teach these kids to dance...

It's so funny. The girls are so eager and the guys are just not there... ...not wanting to do it at all.

| think that comes across quite well. | saw some rushes of that scene. It does show the sort of awkwardness...

All the guys were looking at each other. saying:

"Help. | don't wanna do this." I'd like to be able to dance... ...but I just don't want to learn, if you know what | mean.
Jeg vil gerne kunne danse, jeg gider bare ikke at lære det.
If everyone's gonna do it, it's okay. If not... But everyone's got to. so it's just a laugh
Når alle skal danse. er det i orden. Sa er det faktisk ret sjovt.
I've been doing my steps. I've been working my feet. -You've seen my feet work. -Yeah.

The kids were quite excited about wearing something special.

All the girls got to dress up... ...and the guys were in tuxedos.

Once you're in that costume, in the tux... ...with your cloak on and everything, you do feel a lot more elegant.
Når man står der i sin smoking, føler man sig jo meget elegant.
Mum sent me a dress.

Mine is just... It's horrible.

It's like, pink lace all over it, covered in flowers.

-My dress robes. -Well, they're all right! No lace. No dodgy little collar.

Poor boy. Every time he was wearing it, you really had to laugh.

Then, on the other hand, there is Emma... ...who looks so lovely. The ball's about Emma.

That was, like. the most important dress.

It was like Cinderella. The dress was really a work in process.
Det var ren Askepot. Kjolen udviklede sig gradvist.
We kept on changing. We kept on changing it. kept on changing.
Vi blev ved med at ændre på den.
And Emma was getting nervous because she thought, "What am | going to wear?" And at the end. yes, we got it.
Emma var bekymret for udfaldet. Men til sidst var den der bare.
It was absolutely gorgeous | was absolutely terrified | was going to rip it...

...or spill something on it or anything, so, literally, | would not sit in it.

I would not walk in it. I would not do anything apart from what | had to do in it. | was so worried | was going to wreck it.

Before she comes down... ...she just peeps around the side of a pillar and looks down.

Walking into the set of the Yule Ball was absolutely amazing.

They were marvelous at that. They completely lost themselves.

There were a lot of boys, a lot of girls, probably in a more loose environment...
Der var flere drenge og piger og et vildere miljø end tidligere.
...than we've ever had, and, boy, did they have a blast. We all did, | have to say. It was really fun.
Og de morede sig rigtigt. Det gjorde vi alle. Det var sjovt.
| think what Mike is really trying to capture... ...is the really awkward teenage stage...

It really kind of takes the whole boy-girl dating thing... ...and sort of exaggerates it slightly...

...but just enough so it's still believable, and it's very funny.

And it was enormous fun.
