This tutorial shows you how to set up and connect your hardware interface

このチュートリアルでは、オーディオインターフェースをパソコンに接続して

Ableton Live を使えるようにする方法をご説明します

An external audio interface connects you to microphones,

instruments and other real-world sources to your computer,

You can use Live without an interface,

We use a USB interface for this example.

早速、USB インターフェースを使ってみましょう

To connect the interface, plug the narrow, square side of your USB cable

接続には、 USB ケーブルの細くて四角いプラグを

and the wide side into a USB port on your computer.

Now launch Live.

Open Live's preferences.

These can be found under the Live menu on a Mac,

Click the "Audio" tab.

[Audio] タブをクリックします

In the "Driver Type" chooser,

choose the driver type for your interface.

On a Mac, choose CoreAudio.

Mac なら CoreAudio を、

On a PC, choose ASIO.

Windows なら ASIO を選択します

If these options aren't available, install driver software

このオプションがない場合、専用のソフトをインストールしてから

In the "Audio Input Device" and "Audio Output Device" choosers,

select the interface you're using.

In this case, it's a Focusrite Saffire 6 USB.

この例の場合、 Focusrite Saffire 6 USB ですね

The "Input" and "Output" buttons let you select

will be available for Live to use.

In this example, we'll enable "1 (mono), 2 (mono)"

Select "1/2" and "1/2 (stereo)" outputs and click OK.

Plug the headphones into the interface's headphones port.

ヘッドフォンのプラグをインターフェースの端子に差し込みます

Ensure the speakers are turned off

スピーカーがオフであるのを確認してから、

before any connections are made.

Plug the outputs of your audio interface

オーディオインターフェースの出力プラグを

into the inputs on your speakers.

It should be safe to turn your speakers on.

Now your computer and Live are connected to your audio interface.

Live はパソコンを通じて、オーディオインターフェースと接続完了です
