自作の Open Social アプリケーションを実行する場合の

and today I'm going to take you through the basic steps

基本的な手順を説明します

in running your own open social applications.

まず最初に

So the first thing we are going to do

ガジェットについて少し説明します

is a little primer on gadgets.

ガジェットの基本構成は、XML ファイルです

And Gadgets at their basic level are just XML files.

では実際に

and so we are going to take

ガジェットの XML ファイルを見てみましょう

a quick look at what a gadget xml file looks like

ご覧のとおり、ガジェットは単なる XML です

as you can see a gadget is just xml

ファイルの最初の部分に

at the top of the file you can see the file

XML のバージョンタイプとエンコードが記載されていて

you can see the xml version type and encoding

その下にタグがありますね

and below that you can see the tags that specify this

このタグでガジェットファイルであることを指定しています

as a gadget file

すべてをモジュールタグで囲みます

we open everything up with a module tag

その中のモジュール設定では

and inside of that we have module preferences.

アプリケーションタイトルなどを指定します

that specify things like the applications title

また、アプリケーションに必要な機能を指定する必要があります

and requires features necessary for the application

ここでは Open Social の機能を指定します

here requiring the open social feature

その下で、ガジェットのコンテンツを具体的に定義します

and below that we actually define the content of the gadget

ここでのコンテンツタイプは HTML です

here the content type is html

この中には cdata セクションがあって

inside of that we have a "cdata" section

すべてのコード、HTML、Java スクリプト、

which is where all of our code, our html, and java script go

それから「hello world」のストリングがあります

and the string "hello world".

so now that that little intro's out of the way we can

go down and run our first social application.

so there's a couple of things that you will need for this

but if you don't there are two things you can try.

1 つ目は Google Code Project Hosting です

First is google code project hosting which is

a place to host open source applications

so if you'd like to make your gadget open source

ここでホストできます

you can host it there

もう 1 つは Google Page Creator です

and if you don't want to do that you can use google page creator

HTML ファイルをアップロードしたり編集したりできます

which allows you to upload html files and edit html files

ガジェットの仕様など HTML ファイル以外のファイルもアップロードできます

and upload other non html files like gadget specifications

アップロードの準備が整ったら

so once you have that out of the way

次は orkut アカウントを作成します

your going to need to to create an orkut account

アカウントの作成はとても簡単です

which is pretty straight forward.

orkut.com にアクセスすれば一通りの手順がわかるようになっています

just goto orkut.com and it will walk you through the steps.

アカウントを作成したら

once you've done that,

次は orkut サンドボックスへのアクセスを申し込んでください

you're going to need to sign up for access to the orkut sandbox.

これもまた実に簡単です

which is pretty straight forward as well.

すぐにアクセスできるようにリンクも用意しています

we have a link that you can use to do that.

アクセスすると

and once you have access

sandbox.orkut.com にログインして

you can log into "sandbox.orkut.com"

ガジェットを追加できます

and add your gadget

それでは操作方法をご説明します

and I'll show you how to do that right now

まず、サンプルガジェットのテキストを

so what you should do is take the text of the sample gadget

テキストファイルにコピーして

copy that into a text file

「helloworld.xml」という名前でウェブホスティングアカウントに保存します

and save it on your web hosting account as "helloworld.xml"

orkut アカウントにログインし

log in to your orkut account

[編集] をクリックして

click on the edit button,

ページ左側にある [apps] の隣に

next to apps on the left hand side of the page

新しく作成した XML ファイルの URL を入力します

type in the url of your newly created xml file

[アプリケーションを追加] をクリックします

click on the add application button

アプリケーションに自分のアカウントへのアクセス許可を与えます

grant the application permission to access your account

あとはリンクをクリックするだけで自分のページのアプリケーションに追加されます

and then click on the link that it adds to the applications on your page.

はじめてのソーシャルアプリケーションを orkut にインストールできました

so now you have installed your first social application into orkut.
