if you follow my channel, you know I love these ESP8266 on a NodeMcu board

it's perfect to develop your own IoT projects

Es ist perfekt, wenn man seine eigene IoT Projekte entwickeln möchte

it has several digital pins, it also has an analog pin..

Es hat diverse digitale Pins, einen analogen Pin..

Zählen wir mal durch

yeah.. it only has one analog pin

Jep. Es hat nur einen analogen Pin

hmm.. that's inconvenient

Hmm.. Das ist sehr ungünstig

what if we want to read the values of more than analog sensors..

Was ist, wenn man mehr als die Werte eines analogen Sensors auslesen möchte?

Was machen wir dann?

I could, for example, combine two of them

Ich könnte z.b. zwei von denen verwenden

two ESP, two analog sensors

Zwei ESP, zwei analoge Sensoren

or I could use an additional Arduino Nano

Oder ich könnte einen Arduino Nano hinzufügen

but two controllers for one project.. ..not the thing of my wildest dreams

Aber zwei Controller für ein Projekt? Nicht gerade das Thema meiner wildesten Träume.

I have to find a good way to communicate between those two controllers

Ich müsste eine gute Methode finden um zwischen den Controllern zu kommunizieren

I could use one of those analog input extenders

Ich könnte eines dieser Analog-Eingangs-Erweiterer

den ADS1115 verwenden

it's connected via I2C to the controller

and has four additional inputs

und bietet vier zusätzliche analoge Eingänge

and if you search long enough..

you'll find those also on those quite tiny PCBs

.. dann findet man die auch auf ziemlich kleine Platinen

so it would even fit in any project

So dass es in jedes Projekt passt

but for demonstration, I think, we'll use the bigger one

Aber zur Demonstration verwenden wir den etwas Größeren

just have to solder the pin headers

Wir müssen nur noch Pin Headers anlöten

let's try it with some magic

so, we are using our breadboard friendly NodeMcu board

of course there is no way around using ground and VCC

Und natürlich geht kein Weg vorbei an GND und VCC

we are using a ground rail, because we also want to use a sensor later

this analog extender - let's call it an analog extender..

Der Analog-Erweiterer, lassen uns das einfach mal Analog-Erweiterer nennen,

can be supplied from 3.3 up to 5.5 Volts

Kann man mit 3,3V bis 5,5V versorgt werden

so it doesn't matter if we are using 3.3V or 5V

Also spielt es keine Rolle, ob wir 3,3V oder 5V verwenden

that comes in very handy, because we don't have a 5V output on the ESP

Das kommt uns sehr gelegen, da wir keinen 5V Ausgang auf dem NodeMcu Board haben

and now the I2C pins

Und nun zum I2C

well, usually we would use Analog 4 and 5 for the I2C

Normaler Weise würden wir Analog 4 und 5 für I2C verwenden

but we don't have any other analog pins than the analog 0

Wir haben halt keine Analoge Pins, bis auf den Analog 0 Pin

the cool thing is that you can, on the NodeMcu, define the I2C pins for yourself

Das coole ist, auf dem NodeMcu Board kannst du die I2C Pins selbst definieren

but we will use the corresponding pins

Aber wir verwenden die entsprechenden Pins

well it's not D4 and D5 it's D1 and D2

Es sind aber nicht D4 und D5, sondern D1 und D2

ok. here it is D2 and D2. it must be a failure in printing

Auf diesem Board ist es D2 und D2. Muss ein Fehler in der Beschriftung sein

the forst D2 is obviously D1 and then we have D2

Der erster D2 ist offensichtlich der D1

the D1 pin corresponds to the pin A5 at the Arduino

Der D1 Pin ist äquivalent zu Pin A5 an einem Arduino

so it is the clock line

Und das ist der Taktgeber

and pin 2 is the data line

Und Pin 2 ist die Datenleitung

corresponds to the pin 4

Äquivalet zu Pin A4

now we need at least one sensor

Nun brauchen wir mindestens einen Sensor

let's see what we got

Schauen wir mal, was wir hier haben

I found a gyroscope

it has three analog outputs

Es hat 3 analoge Ausgänge

perfect for this analog extender

Perfekt für diesen Analog-Erweiterer

connect VCC and GND first

VCC und GND verbinden wir zuerst

that one is GND, that one is VCC

and connect the three analog outputs

Und die drei analoge Ausgänge verbinden

to the three analog inputs on this one

An 3 analoge Eingänge an diesem hier

and since this is a test we don't have to remember which pins measure what sensor value

Und da es nur ein Test ist, brauchen wir uns nicht merken, welcher Pin wohin geht

just connect it, how you feel good

Einfach wild verbinden

so, this looks pretty good

Das sieht schon ziemlich gut aus

bringing out my laptop and see if this little thing does the magic trick

Dann hole ich den Laptop raus und schauen wir ob das kleine Teil den Zaubertrick macht

so let's see. wouldn't it be cool, if we had a library for it

Schauen wir mal. Wäre es nicht toll, wenn es bereits eine fertige Bibliothek gäbe

ey! a Adafruit library

Ey... eine Adafruit Bibliothek

it seems for every problem there is a Adafruit library

Es scheint so, dass es für jedes Problem eine Adafruit Bibliothek gibt

let's install it and of course there must be also an example for it of course

Direkt installieren Und mit Sicherheit gibt es ein Beispiel Sketch

just comment this line out, because we have this component the ADS-1115 not the ADS-1015

Wir kommentieren diese Zeile aus und die ein, da wir ein ADS1115 verwenden und nicht den ADS1015

if we want to change the pins where the I2C is attached we do this with Wire.begin(D2, D1)

Wir passen die Pins an, wo wir den I2C haben Wir machen das mit Wire.begin(D2, D1)

just changing the baud rate for the NodeMcu

Noch die Baud Rate dem NodeMcu anpassen

and let's see, if it does the magic trick

Und schauen wir mal, ob er den Trick macht

so, we are getting values

So, wir bekommen Werte rein

it will work for the gyroscope

Funktioniert es mit dem Gyroskop?

and it seem to change if I move the board

Es scheint zumindestens die Werte zu ändern, wenn ich das Board bewege

yeah, this one works

I looked it up and it's called a digital-to-analog-converter

Ich hab mal nachgesehen und die richtige Bezeuchnung ist Analog-Zu-Digital-Wandler

with this you can extend any Arduino or any ESP8266 by 4 more analog inputs

Damit kann man jeden Arduino oder jeden NodeMcu um 4 analoge Pins erweitern

and it's connected via I2C

Und es wird mittels I2C verbunden

one of my favorite ways to connect things to an Arduino

Eines meiner Lieblingschnittstellen für den Arduino

but what if 4 analog inputs aren't enough?

Aber was ist, wenn 4 analoge Pins nicht ausreichen

well, every I2C device has it's own I2C address

Jedes I2C Gerät hat seine eigene I2C Adresse

and the address is normaly imprintd on this board

Und die Adresse ist normalerweise im Board festgesetzt

but.. there we have an address pin

Aber hier haben wir ein Adresse-Pin

so you can change the default address

Damit kann man die Standard Adresse ändern

by connecting the address pin

Indem man den Adress-Pin..

..entweder mit..

SDA, SCL, GND or VCC

SDA, SCL, GND oder VDD verbinden

you can change the internal I2C address of this device

Damit kann man die interne I2C-Adresse des Gerätes ändern

you can technically use five of these boards on one Arduino or ESP

Also kann man technisch gesehen, bis zu 5 Geräte an einem Arduino oder ESP anschließen

five times four are 20 additional analog inputs

Also fünf mal vier sind 20 zusätzliche analoge Eingänge

this is quite much

Das ist ziemlich viel

this would cover most of your IoT projects

Und sollte für die meisten deiner IoT Projekte ausreichen

for me it's the right sensor for my big ass project

Genau das richtige Modul für mein Hammer-Projekt

well this sensor and the ESP

Dieses Modul und der ESP

that is what I need for my next project

Genau das, was ich für mein großes Projekt benötige

although I think I will use the smaller one that you have seen at th beginning of the video

Wobei, ich denke, ich werde das kleinere von beiden verwenden, was man am Anfang des Videos gesehen hat

but only if I can find it again

Aber nur, wenn ich es wiederfinde

so small, I already lost it - within three minutes
