Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) created
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) menciptakan
this entire universe.
seluruh alam semesta ini.
Everything that we see
Semua yang kita lihat
as a mean of benefit to us
sebagai sarana untuk memberi manfaat kepada kita
and that's what really makes it amazing.
dan itulah yang benar-benar membuatnya luar biasa.
( ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ)
(ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ)
( وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ)
(وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ)
(رِزْقًۭا لَّكُمْ)
(رِزْقًۭا لَّكُمْ)
That Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) is the one
Bahwa Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) adalah satu-satunya
who created the heavens and the earth.
yang menciptakan langit dan bumi.
And He sent down from the heavens rain
Dan Dia menurunkan hujan dari langit
producing fruits for you,
menghasilkan buah untuk kalian,
producing sustenance for you,
memberikan rezeki untuk kalian,
so that you can survive.
sehingga kalian bisa bertahan hidup.
(وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْفُلْكَ لِتَجْرِىَ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ بِأَمْرِهِ )
(وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْفُلْكَ لِتَجْرِىَ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ بِأَمْرِهِ )
And Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) provided for you the seas
Dan Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) menyediakan lautan untuk kalian
and He provided for you ships so that you could
dan Dia menyediakan kapal bagi kalian agar bisa
sail through these seas.
berlayar mengarungi lautan ini.
(وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرَ) (QS Ibrahim: 32)
(وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرَ) (QS Ibrahim: 32)
And Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
Dan Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
put the rivers at your service.
menundukkan sungai-sungai bagi kalian.
(وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ دَآئِبَيْنِ)
(وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ دَآئِبَيْنِ)
And Allah place the sun and the moon
Dan Allah menempatkan matahari dan bulan
in their circuits.
pada orbitnya.
(وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ ) (QS Ibrahim: 33)
(وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ) (QS Ibrahim: 33)
And Allah put at your service the night and the day.
Dan Allah telah menundukkan malam dan siang bagi kalian.
(وَءَاتَىٰكُم مِّن كُلِّ مَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُ)
(وَءَاتَىٰكُم مِّن كُلِّ مَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُ)
He gave you everything that you need to survive.
Dia memberi kalian segala yang kalian butuhkan untuk bertahan hidup.
(وَإِن تَعُدُّوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَآ)
(وَإِن تَعُدُّوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَآ)
And if you were to try to count one of the blessings
Dan jika kalian mencoba menghitung salah satu dari nikmat
of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى),
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى),
you would not be able to do so.
kalian tidak akan mampu melakukannya.
(إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَظَلُومٌۭ كَفَّارٌۭ) (QS Ibrahim: 34)
(إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَظَلُومٌۭ كَفَّارٌۭ) (QS Ibrahim: 34)
And verily, man is unjust and ungrateful.
Dan sesungguhnya, manusia itu tidak adil dan tidak tahu berterima kasih.
When you really think about it.
Ketika Anda benar-benar memikirkannya.
Without us asking for anything,
Tanpa kita meminta apa pun,
without us doing anything,
tanpa kita melakukan apapun.
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) provides all of this for us.
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) menyediakan semua ini untuk kita.
And a lot of times we take that for granted.
Dan seringkali kita menerimanya begitu saja.
I remember a scholar once saying,
Saya ingat seorang ulama pernah berkata,
“When was the last time you walked outside
“Kapan terakhir kali Anda berjalan di luar
and you saw some flowers?”
dan Anda melihat bunga?"
And you said “O… Allah, for me?”
Lalu Anda berkata, "Ya... Allah, untukku?"
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) place
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) menaruh
those flowers there for you.
bunga-bunga itu di sana untuk Anda.
Because we just take it for granted.
Karena kita hanya menerimanya begitu saja.
Whereas if someone brought you a cheap bouquet
Sedangkan jika seseorang membawakan Anda buket murahan
from a grocery store
dari toko grosir
and you would thank them for that.
Anda akan berterima kasih kepadanya untuk itu.
But you don’t thank Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
Tetapi Anda tidak berterima kasih kepada Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
for everything that’s been provided for you here.
untuk semua yang telah disediakan untuk Anda di sini.
There is a man by the name Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl
Ada seorang pria bernama Zayd bin Amr bin Nufayl
may Allah be pleased with him.
semoga Allah merahmatinya.
This man who died before the Prophet (ﷺ)
Pria yang meninggal ini sebelum Nabi (ﷺ)
received revelation was a man of tawheed.
menerima wahyu, adalah seorang lelaki tauhid.
And when he used to see the people
Ketika dia melihat orang-orang
slaughtering their animals
menyembelih hewan milik mereka
in the name of other Gods,
atas nama Tuhan-Tuhan yang lain,
he would say,
dia akan berkata,
“Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) provides you these animals.
“Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) memberimu hewan-hewan ini."
Allah provides you the rain that produces fodder,
"Allah memberimu hujan yang menghasilkan pakan ternak,
that produces the food,
yang menghasilkan makanan,
and that produces the sustenance for you,
dan menghasilkan rezeki untukmu,
and your animals,
dan ternakmu,
and then you go and you slaughter
dan kemudian kalian pergi dan menyembelihnya
in the name of other than Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)?”
atas nama selain Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)?"
So it doesn't make any sense.
Jadi hal ini tidak masuk akal.
That Allah gives you so much in all of this
Bahwa Allah memberimu begitu banyak dalam semua ini
that all of these functions
semua manfaat ini
in a way that benefits you.
dengan cara yang menguntungkanmu.
Allah mentions
Allah menyebutkan
the creation of the heavens and earth,
penciptaan langit dan bumi,
Allah mentions the sun and the moon
Allah menyebutkan matahari dan bulan
and our knowledge of night and day.
dan pengetahuan kita tentang siang dan malam.
(لِتَعْلَمُوا۟ عَدَدَ ٱلسِّنِينَ وَٱلْحِسَابَ) (QS Al-Isra: 12)
(لِتَعْلَمُوا۟ عَدَدَ ٱلسِّنِينَ وَٱلْحِسَابَ) (QS Al-Isra: 12)
So that we could properly keep time
Sehingga kita bisa mengelola waktu dengan baik
and we could properly benefit from that.
dan kita bisa mendapat manfaat dari itu.
Could you imagine if we couldn't figure out
Bisakah Anda bayangkan seandainya kita tidak tahu
when night and day would be?
kapan terjadinya malam dan siang?
And if we didn’t know how old we were?
Dan jika kita tidak tahu berapa usia kita?
And if we couldn’t figure out
Dan jika kita tidak tahu
timings and calculations and so on and so forth?
pengaturan waktu dan perhitungannya dan sebagainya?
(هُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ ذَلُولًۭ)
(هُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ ذَلُولًۭ)
(فَٱمْشُوا۟ فِى مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِهِۦ ۖ)
(فَٱمْشُوا۟ فِى مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِهِۦ ۖ)
(وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ) (QS Al-Mulk: 15)
(وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ) (QS Al-Mulk: 15)
He is the one who made exclusively for you (لكم)
Dialah yang menciptakan khusus untuk kalian (لَكُم)
this entire earth.
seisi bumi ini.
(ذَلُولً)
(ذَلُولً)
That this earth is extremely submissive to you.
Bahwa bumi ini sangat tunduk kepada kalian.
(فَٱمْشُوا۟ فِى مَنَاكِبِهَا) Walk its shoulders,
(فَٱمْشُوا۟ فِى مَنَاكِبِهَا) Jelajahilah segala penjurunya,
in a sense walk its mountain,
dalam artian jelajahilah gunung-gunungnya,
its valleys, walk upon its surface.
lembah-lembahnya, berjalanlah di atas permukaannya.
(وَكُلُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِهِ) And eat from its sustenance.
(وَكُلُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِهِ) Dan makanlah sebagian dari rezeki-Nya.
(وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ) But know that one day
(وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ) Tetapi ketahuilah suatu hari
you would be resurrected in front of Him
kalian akan dibangkitkan di hadapan-Nya
and you would be spread out in front of Him
dan kalian akan disebarkan di hadapan-Nya
the way that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
sebagaimana Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
spread this earth out for your benefit.
menyebarkan bumi ini untuk kalian manfaatkan.
If you look at the surface of the earth here,
Jika Anda perhatikan yang dimaksud permukaan bumi di sini,
Allah is saying, He made it special for us.
Allah berfirman bahwa Dia membuatnya khusus buat kita.
The surface of the earth is easy to tread.
Permukaan bumi mudah diarungi.
Imagine if the surface of the earth
Bayangkan jika permukaan bumi
was all like mountain.
semua seperti gunung.
If we all have to live
Jika kita semua harus hidup
in regions that were rough and difficult to walk on.
di daerah yang kasar dan sulit untuk dilalui.
He made it easy for us to tread.
Dia membuatnya mudah bagi kita untuk melangkah.
But at the same time He made the surface
Tetapi pada saat yang sama Dia membuat permukaan
soft enough to where you can dig into it,
cukup lunak dimana Anda bisa menggali ke dalamnya,
and you can plant things, and you could build in it,
dan Anda bisa menanam sesuatu, dan bisa membentuk bagian dalamnya,
so you could construct within it.
sehingga Anda bisa membangun di dalamnya.
He gave us fertile soil
Dia memberi kita tanah subur
so that we could plant things,
sehingga kita bisa menanam sesuatu,
so that the earth can benefit us
sehingga bumi bisa bermanfaat bagi kita
in ways that we can’t imagine, in ways that we can’t see.
dengan cara yang tidak bisa kita bayangkan, dengan cara yang tidak bisa kita lihat.
But at the same time He made the earth
Tetapi pada saat yang sama Dia menciptakan bumi
stable enough and firm enough
cukup stabil dan cukup kuat
while also creating gravity
sambil menciptakan gravitasi
so we’re not just flying all over the place.
agar kita tidak beterbangan ke segala arah.
So, subhanallah, the earth
Jadi, subhanallah, bumi
in many ways is a contradiction.
dalam banyak hal merupakan kontradiksi.
But Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) has perfected it
Tetapi Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) telah menyempurnakannya
in that sense that we are able
dalam artian bahwa kita mampu
to benefit from it in every way possible
memperoleh manfaat darinya dengan segala cara yang ada
without feeling any sense of ingratitude
tanpa merasa tidak bersyukur sedikitpun
to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
kepada Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
while constantly being reminded
sambil terus diingatkan
of the blessings of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) upon us.
akan berkah Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) kepada kita.
And at the end of the day
Pada akhirnya
the earth and the environment, all of this
bumi dan sekelilingnya, semua ini
will testify for us
akan bersaksi untuk kita
or against us on the day of judgement.
atau melawan kita pada hari pembalasan.
The Prophet (ﷺ) mentions this numerous times,
Nabi (ﷺ) menyebutkan ini berkali-kali,
the earth testifying for us or against us;
bumi bersaksi untuk kita atau melawan kita,
the animals, the creatures.
binatang, makhluk.
All of the creation of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
Semua ciptaan Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
has a right upon us.
memiliki hak atas kita.
So when you litter the earth,
Jadi ketika Anda mengotori bumi,
you are littering one of the signs
Anda mengotori salah satu tanda
of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).
You are not doing justice to it,
Anda tidak bersikap adil padanya,
and it might testify against you
dan bumi mungkin bersaksi melawan Anda
on the day of judgement as a result of that.
pada hari pembalasan sebagai akibatnya.
One thing that’s very important
Satu hal yang juga sangat penting
to take into consideration here as well,
untuk dipertimbangkan di sini,
that a lot of times we become so comfortable
seringkali kita menjadi sangat nyaman
and we fail to recognize
dan kita gagal mengenali
the blessing of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) upon us
berkah Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) pada kita
with the earth.
melalui bumi.
And so Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
Dan Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
warns us routinely
memperingatkan kita secara rutin
with things that we become used to.
dengan hal-hal yang biasa kita alami.
So sometimes rain is good news,
Jadi terkadang hujan adalah kabar baik,
sometimes it’s bad news.
terkadang juga kabar buruk.
And in fact Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
Dan sebenarnya Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
tells us in surah Al-Ahqaf
memberitahu kita dalam surat Al-Ahqaf
that when Hud (عليه السلام) addressed his people
bahwa ketika Hud (عليه السلام) berbicara kepada kaumnya
and warned them,
dan memperingatkan mereka,
and the clouds formed,
dan awan terbentuk
and the cloud started to come towards them,
dan mulai mendekati mereka,
they said, (هَـٰذَا عَارِضٌۭ مُّمْطِرُنَا)
mereka berkata, (هَـٰذَا عَارِضٌۭ مُّمْطِرُنَا)
"This is just a cloud that’s bringing us great rain."
"Ini hanyalah awan yang membawakan kita hujan lebat."
But instead Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) says,
Tetapi sebaliknya Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) mengatakan,
(بَلْ هُوَ مَا ٱسْتَعْجَلْتُم بِهِ).
(بَلْ هُوَ مَا ٱسْتَعْجَلْتُم بِهِ).
"Rather this is what you were hasty for;"
"Lebih tepatnya inilah yang kalian minta disegerakan;"
this is the punishment
inilah azab
coming from Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).
yang datang dari Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).
So that you don’t become too comfortable
Agar kalian tidak menjadi terlalu nyaman
in a way that you would forget your purpose
sehingga membuat Anda melupakan tujuan
and you would forget to express gratitude
dan akan lupa bersyukur
to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
kepada Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
and you would forget the day of judgement.
dan membuat kalian melupakan hari pembalasan.
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) causes
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) membuat
the ideal places of this earth to turn on us at times.
tempat yang ideal di bumi ini untuk mengingatkan kita setiap saat.
So how many times do you see a person
Jadi, berapa kali Anda melihat seseorang
sitting on a beautiful beach
duduk di pantai yang indah
and you see a video of a tsunami
dan Anda melihat video tsunami
that all of a sudden came from nowhere?
yang tiba-tiba datang entah dari mana?
Every part of earth that you’re on,
Setiap bagian dari bumi tempat Anda berada,
anywhere that you live,
dimanapun Anda tinggal,
you have to be afraid of something.
Anda pastinya takut pada sesuatu.
So here in the States,
Jadi di sini, di Amerika,
if you live in a certain part
jika Anda tinggal di bagian tertentu
of the region in the south
dari wilayah di selatan
then you’ve got to worry about
maka Anda pasti khawatir dengan
hurricanes all the time.
badai setiap waktu.
Then if you live in the West Coast,
Jika Anda tinggal di West Coast,
you’ve got to worry about earthquakes.
Anda pastinya khawatir dengan gempa bumi.
Then if you go a little bit north,
Jika Anda pergi sedikit ke arah utara,
you got to worry about wildfires.
Anda pastinya khawatir dengan kebakaran hutan.
Then if you're in the north east,
Jika Anda di timur laut,
you’ve got to worry about the constant blizzards
Anda pasti khawatir dengan badai salju tiada henti,
and snowstorms and things of that sort.
dan topan salju dan hal-hal semacam itu.
The idea here is that every part of this world
Intinya di sini adalah bahwa setiap bagian dari dunia ini
has its pros and has its cons.
memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangannya.
And Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
Dan Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
could cause it to all fall apart
bisa memporak-porandakan semua itu
in one moment
seketika
so that we don’t become too comfortable.
sehingga kita tidak menjadi terlalu nyaman.
The way the Prophet (ﷺ) reacted
Cara Nabi (ﷺ) merespon
to the movements of this world,
terhadap pergerakan dunia ini,
to the wind,
terhadap badai,
that if the wind became a little bit severe,
bahwa jika badai menjadi agak kencang,
the Prophet (ﷺ) immediately went to his prayer.
Nabi (ﷺ) segera pergi salat.
If the Prophet (ﷺ) saw
Jika Nabi (ﷺ) melihat
thunder or lightning strike,
guntur atau sambaran petir,
the Prophet (ﷺ) made a du’a
Nabi (ﷺ) berdoa
seeking refuge in Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).
mencari perlindungan kepada Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).
Or in eclipse,
Atau saat gerhana,
the Prophet (ﷺ) sought refuge in Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).
Nabi (ﷺ) mencari perlindungan kepada Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).
Not because Rasulullah (ﷺ) was assigning
Bukan karena Rasulullah (ﷺ) mengajarkan
any superstitions to any of these things,
takhayul untuk hal-hal ini,
but the Prophet (ﷺ) was teaching us
tetapi Nabi (ﷺ) mengajari kita
the proper way to react, to remember
cara yang tepat untuk merespon, mengingat
that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) is fully in control.
bahwa Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) sepenuhnya memegang kendali.
And all of this will one day
Dan semua ini suatu hari nanti
fall apart and we would be
hancur dan kita akan
returned to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).
dikembalikan ke hadapan Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).
