Lingotek Translation Management System is a cloud-based TMS that can be accessed from anywhere that you have internet access.

Today, I am going to demonstrate some of the features of the Lingotek TMS.

Start by logging in to the TMS.

If I leave all of these boxes unchecked, then the user gets added as a linguist.

So linguists are those that would be performing translation tasks or review tasks and whatnot in the system.

I can either add a member in directly by giving them an email and a name

Most of today's demo will be around that of the project manager and the different tasks that a project manager can do,

So let's start with the project manager.

The project manager, first and foremost, manages projects.

When a project manager logs in, they'll see a list of all the projects that the project anager is currently managing.

Coming back to the project list, though, any of these projects will show you the number of documents that are contained in them

and within them, the total word count, how many inline format tags still need to be applied,

I can go down into any of these projects to see the details of which documents make up that project

I can further scroll down on a document to see what the workflow is.

In this case we have a post-edit translation, a workflow (where we have a human translation, followed by a human post-edit) happening.

Lingotek being a cloud-based tool, allows you to assign tasks to individuals, and you can give them to multiple individuals, as well as assign it to teams or groups of people,

By default, tasks are done via assignment, which means you assign them to one or more people.

So Lingotek also provides collaborative opportunities for doing voting.

Again, going back to the assignment, though, which is a more common scenario, you can also allow translators to check out the tasks themselves.

In this case, only one translator can work on it at a time, sort of like checking a book out from a library.

But if you turn task check out off, then anyone assigned to the task can work on it simultaneously.

So this is a great option if you need to fast-track a project and get it done more quickly.

Multiple translators can be working on it, all at the same time, all in the cloud, working off the same document.

Other changes that can be made to a task are rules--these are all part of our workflow engine.

So you can see in this case there's already some rules that when this particular phase is marked complete, that the next phase in my workflow will be started.

But there are other rules that can be added to any phase, so rules are made up of a condition followed by an action.

So other conditions can be when the phase starts or when it reaches a certain percentage of progress.

Actions that can be triggered throughout the workflow include, as we've already discussed, marking a phase complete or starting the next phase,

These are very helpful when doing integration to, say, a content management system or other content repository, for which translation is being performed.

You can also send the email dynamically to any assigned translators or reviewers, any of the shared project managers, or any client users,

You can sort through results either by language pairs or by the assigned users, based on the phase, if you are trying to build a quote for your vendors.

Last few things to show from a project manager's perspective are the creating of workflows.

A workflow is a set of steps that it's going to take to get a translation done.
