How do I sign in to Filmot, keep my session and use my Patreon benefits?

Open Login from the account icon. Select "Sign-in with Patreon". To receive Patreon supporter benefits, use the Patreon account associated with your Filmot membership.

You do not need an account for ordinary searches or standard exports. An account is required for saved searches, private notes and API keys, while prioritized channels require supporter benefits.

Your browser may preserve the signed-in session between visits until it expires, you sign out or cookies are cleared. Private-browsing sessions generally do not persist. Check your recognized Patreon tier on Settings, and use the same sign-in method to access notes, searches and keys associated with that account.

Is Filmot free to use, and what benefits do Patreon supporters receive?

Filmot's basic search features are free. You do not need a Patreon subscription or an account to search subtitles, captions, transcripts and video metadata, or to export results within the standard limits. Anonymous visitors and accounts without patron benefits can export up to 60 rows from subtitle search or 100 rows from metadata search. An account is required for saved searches, private video notes and API keys.

Sign in with your linked Patreon account to receive supporter benefits. Official Patron, Silver Patron and VIP Patron members receive:

  • Priority indexing for channels you add on Prioritized Channels: 1, 4 or 15 active channels, respectively. You can change your selections later.
  • Larger exports: up to 10,000 rows per export, or 2,500 when full subtitles are included, with stored video descriptions.
  • A larger monthly API credit allowance, according to tier.
  • More saved searches with automatic daily email digests: 5, 18 or 60, respectively, compared with 1 without patron benefits.
  • No captchas on searches.

Abusing the access provided with a Patreon linked account may limit benefits. Verification may still be required for other actions, such as signing in or using the contact form. You can check the recognized Patreon Tier on Settings and support the project through the support page.

Why are my Patreon export limits lower, or the patron export options unavailable?

  • With patron benefits: export up to 10,000 rows, or 2,500 when full subtitles, captions or transcripts are included. Stored video descriptions are included.
  • Without patron benefits: export up to 60 rows from subtitle search or 100 rows from metadata search, without descriptions.

Abusing the access provided with a Patreon linked account would cause the standard export limits apply even while your Patreon membership is active. Larger options in the subtitle export dialog may then be marked only available to Patrons. Also check that you signed in with the correct Patreon account and that the Patreon Tier line on Settings shows your tier.

How do Patreon supporters add or change prioritized channels, and what are the tier limits?

Patreon supporters can add channels to the priority indexing queue on Prioritized Channels. Sign in with your linked Patreon account, search for a channel by name and select a suggestion, or paste @handles or UC channel IDs. You can also submit a list. A channel does not need to be in Filmot already, but it must still be accessible on YouTube.

Priority indexing includes the channel's videos regardless of view count and picks up new uploads faster. It improves coverage in both subtitle search and metadata search, particularly for smaller channels whose videos would not normally meet the subtitle crawling threshold. Supporting Filmot does not automatically prioritize a channel: you need to add it to your list. Captions must still exist on YouTube and be accessible for Filmot to collect them; prioritization cannot create missing subtitles or guarantee discovery of every unlisted video.

The number of channels you can keep active at once depends on your tier:

  • Official Patron: 1 channel.
  • Silver Patron: 4 channels.
  • VIP Patron: 15 channels.

The page shows your quota and remaining slots. Very large channels may require additional review before they are added.

To change your selection, remove a channel from the list to free a slot, then add another. Videos already indexed remain in Filmot; future uploads from the removed channel follow the normal indexing criteria without priority. Priority affects indexing speed and coverage, rather than the channel's ranking in search results.

How do saved searches and daily email digests work, and how do I stop an alert?

Saved searches retain your query, filters and selected channels and can notify you about newly found matches. Sign in to manage them.

  1. Run a subtitle or metadata search and click the bell button. Give the saved search a name and, optionally, a description.
  2. Enable Send daily email digest for automatic daily runs. Searches without this option run when you click Run.
  3. Open Saved Searches to inspect results and delivery status, run searches manually or use Send Combined Email. Daily Results shows recent runs.

Digests are delivered to your account email or a separately verified address. Your query terms, selected channels and results may be sensitive; choose a recipient address you control and avoid forwarding confidential digests.

The daily-digest allowance is 1 saved search without patron benefits, 5 for Official Patron, 18 for Silver Patron and 60 for VIP Patron.

To stop an alert, use Turn off this email alert in the digest, disable Send daily email digest on the saved-search page or delete the saved search. Disabling a digest retains the search for manual use. Deleting a saved search also removes its stored results from the saved-search feature; previously delivered emails or separately downloaded copies remain outside that deletion.

Can I add private notes to videos in my search results?

Yes. Sign in to add notes to videos from search results, channel pages or video pages. Notes are associated with your account and are not displayed publicly or to other users through the normal interface. They are not end-to-end encrypted or inaccessible to site administrators. Avoid storing passwords or highly sensitive personal information in notes.

A note can contain up to 4,096 characters and an optional color. Use **bold** for emphasis. Timestamps such as 00:15 or 01:02:03 become links to those moments. From subtitle search, you can append matching caption snippets or apply a note to all videos on the current page, either to videos without notes or by overwriting existing notes.

My Notes lists your annotated videos and lets you search note text and filter by channel, date, duration, livestream status or listed/unlisted status. You can request deletion of associated account data through the contact form.

What happens to my supporter benefits if my Patreon membership ends?

Supporter benefits follow the Patreon tier recognized for your Filmot account. The tier is refreshed when you sign in with Patreon and appears on Settings.

When a membership ends, tier-based benefits such as larger exports, prioritized channels, additional saved searches with daily digests and a higher API allowance no longer apply. Some former supporters may qualify as Generous Former Patron, retaining the benefits of the Official Patron tier.

Free features remain available, including searches, standard-limit exports, private notes and saved searches within the free allowance.

Who runs Filmot, and how is it funded?

Filmot is an independently operated YouTube search service supported through memberships and voluntary contributions. It does not display advertising.

The support page offers Patreon memberships with additional features and other contribution options. Donations help cover hosting and operating costs.
