How do I request removal of personal information for privacy or legal reasons?

Submit requests concerning personal information in Filmot's public search results through the contact form. This includes requests for erasure, de-indexing or the "right to be forgotten" under applicable data-protection laws, such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA where those laws apply. The rights and remedies available depend on the relevant law and circumstances.

You may request review of identifying information in video titles, descriptions, subtitles or channel details even if you do not own the YouTube channel. Provide the Filmot URL or search result, a brief explanation of the concern and, if available, the original YouTube URL. Do not include passwords or identity documents in your initial message; additional verification may be requested when appropriate.

Filmot indexes publicly accessible information about YouTube videos but does not host the underlying video or audio files. Removing a record from Filmot does not remove source material from YouTube or copies held by independent services.

Privacy complaints, copyright notices and Filmot account-deletion requests involve different legal issues and may require different verification. Each request is assessed under applicable law, taking account of relevant rights and circumstances; a particular outcome cannot be guaranteed. See the privacy policy for further information.

How do I request removal of my channel's data, and how is channel ownership verified?

Send a channel-data removal request through the contact form, identifying the channel and the records you want reviewed.

Filmot may request reasonable verification that you own the channel or are authorized to act for it. If the channel was deleted or you no longer have access, explain that in your request. Please do not send passwords or identity documents in your initial message; Filmot will explain if additional verification is needed.

You do not need to own a channel to raise a privacy or copyright concern about specific information. These requests are assessed separately and may result in removal or other appropriate action, depending on the circumstances.

Removing a record from Filmot does not remove it from YouTube, the Internet Archive or other independent services.

Can I delete my Filmot account or the personal data stored with it?

Filmot does not currently provide self-service account deletion. To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, use the contact form. Include enough information to identify the account, such as its email address or sign-in provider. Filmot may need to verify account ownership before acting; please do not submit passwords or identity documents in your first message.

You can delete some items yourself, including saved searches on Saved Searches and API keys on API Keys. See the privacy policy for information about data handling.

Account deletion is separate from requests about personal information appearing in public video metadata or transcripts. You do not have to own a YouTube channel to request privacy review of information about yourself.

Does Filmot use cookies or track visitors?

Filmot uses its own cookies and similar storage for sessions, sign-in, security and preferences such as dark mode, language and autoplay settings. It does not use personal information for targeted advertising.

To operate the site and prevent abuse, Filmot and its service providers may process limited technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages and security logs. Some features involve third-party services, including the video player displayed within a YouTube iframe, hCaptcha and Patreon sign-in. These services may process technical information or use cookies under their own privacy policies. The privacy policy provides further information about these integrations.

Blocking some cookies can interfere with sign-in or saved preferences. The privacy policy explains the categories of information Filmot processes and the services involved.
